JON BOURBAUD
Founding Director
Australian born Jon has considerable hotel operations experience throughout the SE Asian region. He started his career in 2001 in Vietnam as EAM and then General Manager at Novotel Phan Thiet where he implemented the first environmental certification of a hotel in Vietnam. Jon subsequently served as GM of the Sofitel Palace Dalat.
In 2010 he was responsible for the first MGallery rebrand in SE Asia at the La Veranda Resort in Phu Quoc. In the following decade, Jon took up several GM posts around the region including in Myanmar and Laos, where he was Cluster General Manager for the Apple Tree Group.
With over 20 years’ experience of hotel operations and management, he is able to ensure balanced and profitable operations without compromising service and guest satisfaction.
GARY TYSON
Founding Director
Originally from Sydney with a background in the restaurant industry, Gary embarked on a career in hospitality with the venerable Aman Resorts. His first post was in Indonesia working in the F&B operations at the Amanwana, Amanjiwo and Amandari.
In 2008 he moved to Luang Prabang to be the opening General Manager of the 5-star Amantaka Resort, following which he moved to the 4-star Azerai hotel in Luang Prabang in the role of General Manager.
At the beginning of 2019, he became Country General Manager of Lao Derm Hospitality Group, Laos’ pre-eminent hospitality group.
Gary is highly-experienced at all facets of both back and front of house operations, and is pleased to be able to bring his extensive knowledge to hotels and resorts around the region.
